Representative Director, CEOYusuke Inagaki

After graduating from university, Yusuke joined ABeam Consulting Ltd., where he led projects planning company-wide system strategies as well as designing and building a large-scale database for financial institutions. He founded Uzabase in 2008 together with Ryosuke Niino and Yusuke Umeda.

Born in Aichi, Yusuke is fond of a good chat over drinks. In the summer, he can often be found organizing company BBQ parties.

Chief Human Resources OfficerShinobu Matsui

Shinobu is a Certified Public Accountant. After working at a major Japanese auditing firm, she served as consulting manager of international taxation at PwC Tax Japan. Shinobu joined Uzabase in 2014 to manage corporate operations including HR, administration, and legal affairs. She also led various corporate projects including IPO and M&A. She became head of Uzabase Corporate in 2018, COO in 2019, CPO/CAO in 2020, and served as Board Director from 2021 to February 2023. She has been CHRO since February 2023.

Originaly from Kanagawa, Shinobu spent four and a half years in Turkey for family reasons and considers Istanbul to be like her second home. She was the first working mother at Uzabase. Her family once again took her to Thailand in 2019, where she worked remotely for 18 months.

Chief Financial OfficerDaisuke Chiba

After graduating from university, Daisuke joined JAFCO. He then joined Cookpad Inc. and was involved in IPO, budget management, IR, change in stock market listing, M&A, and new business development. After serving as CFO at VASILY (current ZOZO Technologies), he joined Uzabase in 2018 and assumed his current position in 2019. He oversees the Accounting and Finance operations.

Born in Hokkaido, Daisuke is a football fanatic and uses the sport as a metaphor to explain almost everything.

Chief Information Officer / Chief Information Security OfficerKeiichi Oh

Keiichi joined Uzabase in July 2022 and currently serves as its CIO and CISO, overseeing corporate IT and information security. He is responsible for a wide range of areas, including IT strategy governance, engineering, cybersecurity, and tech branding. Prior to joining Uzabase, Keiichi worked in managerial IT positions at BizReach, Inc. and GLOBIS. He has also contributed to value improvement of corporate IT at multiple companies as an external IT advisor.

In his private life, Keiichi loves Okinawa and divides his time between Chiba and Okinawa. He also works as a positive psychology counselor and camp instructor in his free time.

Director of OperationsSeiji Harikae

Seiji holds a master’s degree from the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Science and MBA from the University of Texas. He worked at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities in quantitative analysis, internal control management, and M&A advisory, before joining Uzabase in 2019. After managing corporate operations for FORCAS, he became head of corporate development in charge of the B2B SaaS business and COO. He assumed his current position in January 2025.

Originally from Saitama, Seiji's interests include running, space exploration, and academic research. He considers himself to be more of a numbers guy than a wordsmith. His favorite brand of Japanese sake is "Tatsuriki".

Head of Business DevelopmentTomoyuki Ota

Tomoyuki joined Uzabase in January 2017. After leading the SPEEDA business, he managed the acquisition of the US company Quartz Media, becoming its CFO in August 2018. He returned to Uzabase in July 2021. Prior to Uzabase, he worked as an investment banker for 14 years at Morgan Stanley Securities and UBS Securities, including at their Silicon Valley office. Ota holds a master’s degree in chemical system engineering from the University of Tokyo School of Engineering, where he conducted research on fuel cell technology.

Tomoyuki spent his childhood in Singapore, returning to Japan for high school. His hobbies are traveling and airplanes. He still dreams of becoming a pilot.

Expert Business Director Soshi Kawaguchi

After receiving a DSc from the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Science studying circadian rhythm, Soshi joined UBS Securities, where he worked in domestic and cross-border M&A and LBO projects at the M&A and Technology Team. He was involved in launching multiple startups as well as financing and new business development before founding Mimir, Inc., an expert network service provider, in 2017. Mimir has been a Uzabase Group company since 2020.

Born in Izumo, Shimane, Soshi is a father of one.

Head of Learning and HR Development / Chief Human Resources Officer, Speeda BusinessToshifumi Moriya

A graduate of Waseda University, Toshifumi started his career in sales and new business launch at Intelligence (current Persol Career). Later, he launched a freelancer-supporting startup and led its growth as a sales director. He co-founded MIMIR in 2017 and served as its director, joining the Uzabase Group in 2020 through a merger, and assuming his current position in October 2023.

Originally from Chiba, Toshifumi lives in the Shonan area and enjoys surfing. His dream is to surf around the world with his family.

Chief Revenue Officer, Speeda BusinessRyo Sakuta

After graduating from university, Ryo joined Hewlett-Packard Japan as an account manager in charge of major manufacturing and energy-related companies. In 2012, he joined Salesforce. Having gained experience in sales to large companies, in 2016 he became the youngest person to be appointed as the head of commercial sales. He was involved in acquiring new customers among small and medium-sized companies as well as growing startups, cultivating existing customers, and training the sales team. From February 2020, Ryo served as the head of the commercial sales, Strategic Sales Division, and was in charge of planning and executing sales strategies. He was appointed executive officer in 2022. In May 2024, he joined Uzabase as an executive officer.

Born in 1984 in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Ryo loves sales and wants to create a world where everyone can enjoy sales. His hobbies are mainly indoor activities such as movies, manga and video games.

Chief Product Officer, Speeda BusinessShoyo Nishikawa

After graduating from university, Shoyo joined Sony Corporation (now Sony Group Corporation) and was involved in corporate planning and new business development at its HQ. He has been a director of an educational NPO since 2013 and a collaborative researcher at the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo since 2016. Since joining Uzabase in 2017, Shoyo has worked in sales, inside sales, marketing, customer success, and product management before assuming his current role of executive officer and Chief Customer Officer.

Born in Kunitachi City, Tokyo, Shoyo comes from a family of merchants and grew up in a shop from an early age. He later went to experience 40 different jobs in five countries. He wants to be able to start a business anywhere, even in the most remote areas, and have fun doing it.
His hobbies are reading, adventure, and spending time in nature. His favorite books are “Revolution No. 3”, “Perpetual Peace”, and “The Sound of Airflow”. The highest peak he has achieved a solo ascent on is Mont Blanc (4,809 m).

Chief Customer Officer, Speeda BusinessSuguru Yamamoto

Suguru joined Uzabase in 2017 after working at Funai Consulting Inc.
He was involved in the launch of the West Japan branch, overseeing the sales department of the Speeda business, launching the Customer Success (CS) department of the Expert Research business, overseeing the CS departments of each business within the group, and promoting the integration of each business. He served as the executive officer in charge of Customer Success since 2023 before assuming his current position in 2025.

Born in 1984 in Shiga Prefecture, Suguru resides in Kyoto with his family and four children. He enjoys going to public bathhouses with his family. His hobby is taking care of his rigid denim jeans. He is proud of his good luck.

Chief Executive Officer, NewsPicks BusinessTakuro Monji

After working as the development manager on projects for major banks and securities companies at Simplex, Takuro joined NewsPicks as an engineer during the early stages of its launch. He was in charge of product development for individual users and the launch of new businesses, and became an executive officer in 2020. From 2021, he was in charge of the product development organization as CPO/CTO, and from 2022 he also served as an executive officer in charge of the NewsPicks Premium business. He assumed his current position in 2025.

Born in Kyoto, Takuro has loved the internet and making things since childhood. Largely influenced by his first boss, he became obsessed with programming, aiming to become a super hacker. Using the skills he had acquired, he moved to NewsPicks as an engineer, experiencing first-hand the unpredictability of life. Takuro loves novels and delicious food.

Chief Media Officer, NewsPicks BusinessMitsufumi Ikeda

Upon graduating from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo, Mitsufumi joined Diamond, Inc. After working in bookshop sales, he joined the Weekly Diamond editorial department, where he was in charge of finance, the Bank of Japan and the Ministry of Finance, as well as the automobile industry. From April 2016, he moved to the NewsPicks editorial department. His features after the transfer include “Battery Wars”, “Tesla Madness”, “The Ghosn Incident”, “The Failure of iPS”, and “The Theory of a Weak Yen”. From May 2019, he became the editor-in-chief. From July 2022, he became the CXO (Chief Experience Officer). He took up his current position in January 2025.

Born in Kagoshima, Mitsufumi survived his university years without any financial support from home, and decided to take a break from school as he didn't feel like walking the same path as everyone else. The months he spent in Ireland and India became a turning point in his life, and he decided to become a reporter. The sea and mountains are his playground, but recently he's been spending a lot of time hiking in the mountains. He finds the thrill of his job in the physical challenges of reporting.

Chief Operating Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer, NewsPicks BusinessMotoi Nakazato

After graduating from the Keio Graduate School of Science and Technology, specializing in mechanical engineering, Motoi worked as a strategic consultant and project manager at Mercer Japan (M&A advisory services) and Corporate Directions (CDI), a turnaround manager at Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corporation of Japan (current Regional Economy Vitalization Corporation of Japan), and a director of Livesense before joining Uzabase. He is a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Management, Globis University and a partner faculty member of Globis.

Originally from Gunma, Motoi loves trees, wild birds, and ukulele. He usually moves around Tokyo on foot and is a connoisseur of roadside trees and old maps.

Chief Executive Officer, NewsPicks StudiosShunsuke Kanaizumi

After working as a magazine writer, Shunsuke joined a publishing company (Fuji Sankei CG). After working in sales for bookstores and distributors, and editing women's fashion magazines, he moved on to editing weekly magazines. He has served as the editor-in-chief of “Weekly SPA!” and the founding editor-in-chief of the web version “Nikkan SPA!” He has been the editor-in-chief of NewsPicks since March 2018. Since May 2019, he has been the executive officer in charge of the NewsPicks Premium business. He has served the CEO of NewsPicks Studios since January 2021.

Born in Tokyo, Shunsuke loves playing ball and drinking beer.
