Uzabase, Inc. hereby announces the appointment of Yasutaka Fukuda as External Director and Kazuhiro Yamada as Part-time Director, effective July 1, 2023.
Mr. Fukuda has vast experience in the SaaS industry alongside expertise in marketing, and has significantly contributed to the growth and expansion of Uzabase SaaS business, acting as Management Advisor to SPEEDA since 2018. In his new role as External Director, he is expected to gradually expand his involvement to the entire Uzabase business and contribute to creating an organization scalable both domestically and globally.
Mr. Yamada has an established background in numerous global M&A transactions and providing support to Japanese companies within the Carlyle Group portfolio. With his wealth of experience and knowledge, he is expected to enhance the range of perspectives at the Uzabase Board of Directors and further strengthen the Company’s governance.

After graduating from Waseda University, Japan, Mr. Fukuda joined Oracle Corporation Japan and was transferred to the company’s U.S. headquarters in 2001. In 2004, he joined the U.S. headquarters of Salesforce.com, moving to its Japanese subsidiary the following year to drive the company's growth in the Japanese market for the next nine years, later assuming the position of Senior Vice President. In 2014, he joined Marketo KK, the Japanese subsidiary of Marketo Inc., as its President. Following the acquisition of Marketo by Adobe Systems in 2019, he acted as Vice President of Adobe Systems and President of Asia Pacific-Japan, Marketo Inc.

Kazuhiro Yamada

Mr. Yamada is a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Carlyle Japan advisory team where he plays a leading role in advising Carlyle’s portfolio companies in Japan.
Upon receiving a B.S. from Doshisha University, he worked in investment banking for five years, project finance for five years and commercial banking for five years at Sumitomo Bank (currently Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation). Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Yamada was a Senior Vice President of Daiwa Securities SB Capital Markets Co. Ltd., where he engaged in cross-border M&A deals along with Lazard Freres. From 2017 to 2019, he served as Chairman of the Japan Private Equity Association.
He is a Certified International Investment Analyst ® and a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program, Stanford Graduate School of Business (2010).

I look forward to working together with the Uzabase team as Part-Time Director, gaining a better understanding of Uzabase's current position and contributing to the realization of the company's Purpose through discussions focused on necessary adjustments to its strategy, strategic priorities, and other issues.
