Uzabase, Inc. (UB) is pleased to announce that Erik Abbott, the former CEO and founder of SCRIPTS Asia, has been appointed as an executive officer at UB as of April 1, 2025. Going forward, he will serve as UB’s Head of Global Business responsible for overseeing the global expansion of the Speeda platform.
In addition to assisting Japanese businesses with research into overseas markets, UB provides its services to companies all over the world through local subsidiaries in Southeast Asia (since 2013), Speeda China (a service specialized for the Chinese market launched in 2019), and US-based SPEEDA Edge (a platform providing actionable intelligence on emerging tech trends around the world launched in 2021).
To take the global development of its operations to the next level, UB has appointed Erik—who possesses an abundance of global management experience, deep industry knowledge, and a broad professional network—as a member of its executive leadership team with the title of Head of Global Business.
With this appointment, UB aims to enhance its ability to leverage its data and original contents in a way that provides value to and meets the needs of users around the globe. With Erik’s help, UB hopes to establish a multi-product sales structure, promote collaboration across its global offices in the US, China, and Southeast Asia, and engage in new activities targeting investors outside Japan.

Erik has more than 25 years of experience in the global financial data industry and has worked extensively with institutional investors and data providers worldwide, serving in executive and sales management positions both in Asia and North America.
Erik had previously served as the CEO of SCRIPTS Asia—the leading provider of investor event coverage for Asia Pacific equities—a company he founded 2017 and which was later acquired by JPX Group in 2023.
Prior to SCRIPTS Asia, Erik spent over 17 years at FactSet Research Systems as Regional Director, Japan & Korea Markets, before subsequently serving as its Head of Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Asia Pacific.
Erik graduated from Middlebury College with a double major in Japanese language and International Politics & Economics. He also studied at Doshisha University in Kyoto.
