NewsPicks Inc., a group company of Uzabase Inc. (TSE Mothers: 3966), will collaborate with the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show (TMS) organised by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) during 27 October-5 November 2017, and launch events in JAMA's theme exhibition "Tokyo Connected Lab 2017".
Furthermore, it will be the first time for NewsPicks to try the broadcasting of live events through its smartphone app (NewsPicks). In addition, feature reports and original news articles about the 2017 TMS will be delivered through the app under the tab “Beyond the Motor” before and throughout the event (during 4–17 October and 27 October–5 November, respectively).
The 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017 is themed with “Beyond the Motor”, and around 150 enterprises and organisations across 10 countries worldwide will participate in the event at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center.
“Tokyo Connected Lab 2017” is aimed at enabling visitors to gain an understanding of the new values brought by the future of a mobile society and its connection with our daily lives more easily. Three participatory programmes—The Future, The Maze, and The Meet Up— will be held at the exhibition, and NewsPicks is the producer and co-organiser for The Meet Up talk sessions and pitching events.
